Hello everyone! ^-^ My name is Kennet, and I'm the captain of the John Marshall High School Anime Club! ^-^ I created this part of the blog to share and express the wonders of Vocaloid!

First off.....VOCALOID is a music group. It is NOT AN ANIME OR MANGA. Hence this picture (Ignore the "Touhou" part.) :
Spoiler:

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application made by Yamaha Corp. that enables people to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. The Yamaha Vocaloid Synthesizer technology comes with specially recorded vocals of voice actors and/or singers. It was all created by the father of Vocaloid: Kenmochi Hideki !

There are many types of Vocaloid projects/volumes:

v1 (Vocaloid 1)
- Was release 2004
- Languages available: English, Japanese

The first Vocaloid ever created was a male synthesizer named Leon. Lola was the second but the first female vocaloid created. Sooner after, Miriam's synthesizer surpassed the first two synthesizers. (These were english ones first.)

MEIKO is the first female japanese vocaloid to be released; but she wasn't as famous as the first male Japanese Vocaloid: KAITO.

V1 series in order:

Leon
Lola
Miriam
Meiko
Kaito

v2 (Vocaloid 2)
- Was release 2007
- Languages available: English, Japanese

After some successful responses from fans, Yamaha created their first voicebanks, Sweet Ann in english and Hatsune Miku! Even though Sweet Ann was a good success, Hatsune Miku was even better. She became the first well-known Vocaloid Japanese pop-idol around the globe! Ever since her debut, Vocaloid had become more and more popular every single day! Soon after, the Kagamine twins were born! :3 Kagamine Len and Kagamine Rin! Many Vocaloids were released in the V2 series were japanese and some english ones.

V2 series in order:

Sweet Ann
Hatsune Miku
Kagamine Rin/Len
Prima
Gackpoid
Megurine Luka
Megpoid (GUMI)
Sonika
SF-A2 Miki
Kaai Yuki
Kyoteru Hiyama
Big Al
Miku Append
Tonio
Lily
Vy1
Gachapoid
Nekomura Iroha
Utatane Piko
Kagamine Append
VY2

v3 (Vocaloid 3)

- Vocaloid 3 has just been revealed only last year, (2011).
- English, Japanese

V3 Series in order:

Mew
SeeU
VY1v3
V3 Megapoid
Tone Rion
Oliver
CUL
Yuzuki Yukari
Bruno
Clara
IA
Aoki Lapis
V3 Lily

Yes, Vocaloid is not just created for and by the Japanese; they've created English voice banks also. I will only promote the Japanese Vocaloids though. Vocaloid improves every year. The most popular well-known Vocaloid is Hatsune Miku (As you all know by now), Kaito, Meiko, Kagamine Rin/Len, GUMI, and Luka.

These are official Vocaloids made by Yamaha. Even though this blog is dedicated to Vocaloid, I might possibly also promote Utauloids~ I'll write up something for that later. That's pretty much it about vocaloids...
